Our First Wedding Anniversary at Disneyland Paris
It was only logical really that we should celebrate our first wedding anniversary at Disneyland Paris, it was our first trip there together that we got engaged. This would be our fifth trip to Disneyland Paris, but the first time that we would stay at the Disneyland Hotel, something I’ve always wanted to do, and we finally did it! I think a wedding anniversary was enough of an excuse to spend a bit extra…
I would throughly recommend staying at the Disneyland Hotel, even if just for the sheer convenience of not having to walk ages to get to/from the parks! It is literally right above the Disneyland Park entrance, so no 15/20 minute walk if you want to go back to your room for a bit. Having stayed at Santa Fe and Sequoia Lodge on our previous trips, it really was such a treat to just get a lift down from our room and then barely a 2 minute walk to the entrance. Also, small things like a turn down service (we came back to chocolates on the pillow and a cute little dreams quote card each night) and seeing characters wandering the halls was lovely too.
We had dinner on out first night at Bistrot Chez Remy, themed after Ratatouille and they make everything in the restaurant feel as if you are the size of a rat. We had eaten here before, and loved it so much. I had the beef fillet this time, and it was so good. Each dish comes with ratatouille (of course). Our second night, we ate at Cafe Mickey, where we got to meet Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Pluto, Eeyore AND Tigger. This is my favourite way to meet characters (and they’re the only characters that I would like to meet – I can just imagine the awkwardness of meeting a character that can actually speak to you!) as you don’t have to wait to meet them and they come round several times (we got so many photos). The food was good too (bit pricey for what it is though…)
Anyways, I’ll stop rambling on so you can look at some pretty pictures. Because that’s what you really want to see!
